By using sand for your incense bowl, the incense ashes are safely contained and then mix in with the sand in a clean manner. Not only do you not have to clean up after each burn, but the stick is held firmly in place and can even be extinguished midway to extend the burn time. Lavender buds have been mixed in to the sand for added scent.
